Call for abstracts for the 2019 World Congress of Dermatology

With more than a year before the World Congress of Dermatology convenes for the 24th time, in Milan, the scientific program is already taking shape.
The call for abstracts has been distributed, with submissions opening on Dec. 13, 2017, and several have already been submitted, confirmed a WCD spokesperson in an email to Derm.city. Regular abstract submissions will be accepted until Sept. 15 of this year, though there will be a window for late-breaking abstracts from Feb. 1, 2019 through Feb. 28, 2019.
A total of 43 topics will be covered in the scientific program for the 2019 Congress, ranging from acne and atopic dermatitis to less typical areas, including gender dermatology, and humanitarian dermatology and migrant health. The scientific program committee for the 2019 Congress is being lead by Dr. Christopher Griffiths, who is foundation professor of dermatology at the University of Manchester in Manchester, U.K., and a consultant dermatologist at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust. Dr. Griffiths is joined in the committee by Dr. Jean L. Bolognia (USA), Dr. Raul Cabrera (Chile); Dr. Lars E. French (Switzerland), Dr. Hassan Galadari (United Arab Emirates), Dr. Kenji Kabashima (Japan), Dr. Giovanni Pellacani (Italy), Dr. Ketty Peris (Italy), Dr. Martin Röcken, (Germany), and Drs. Harvey Lui and Jerry Shapiro from Canada.
After the opening ceremonies on June 10, 2019, the 24th annual World Congress of Dermatology will run for five days at the Milano Congressi—MiCo—in Milan.
